we've sapped the earth for its worth taken its trees and lived in them angered when they started burning as they naturally do crying and sobbing when nature's karma roared in protest we've scaled the mountains for ore and coal and shiny stones hoarded them to buy larger and larger caves of our own crammed millions of artificial stars on glass panels just to see our lives a bit closer we've forgotten how to look at the sky tell time from real stars we've forgotten how to feel space how to feel time we've forgotten how to count stars just to count them
