i planted some seeds
watered them and
watched them grow
they grew and grew until one day
they grew without me
some grew taller than me
some spread to other gardens
the garden that was once mine
became its own
it’s hard to let go of pieces of the past that i’ve cared for.
communities that grew to be something different. close friends that spread around different parts of the world.
i remind myself that the garden always grows.
it grows with a mind of its own.
